There are huge advantages in giving up an area, perhaps a section of your existing lawn, to nature and a wildflowers! Wildflowers are in themselves ‘wildlife’ and will attract a wide variety of life including bees and butterflies and birds.

The best way to establish a wildflower garden is to lay Wildflower Turf. This is far more reliable than seeding because it establishes a wide mix of perennial plants. It also ensures a hardy mix of species that will do well in almost any soil, and grow in areas of sun or shade. Initially the turf is supplied as a rolled ‘carpet ‘ with wildflowers already established. This means the perennial plants are established very quickly, and can in some cases be flowering as we lay it. Wildflower turf containing Ox eye daisy, Clover and Ragged Robin. For the first few weeks the turf needs watering well, but once established will only need cutting (and the cuttings removed) once or twice a year. This means less maintenance than a lawn which requires constant mowing and weeding.
